Inauguration of Temascho's New Board of Governors

Tema Secondary School marked a significant milestone in its history with the formal inauguration of its newly reconstituted Board of Governors on May 22, 2025. The ceremony, held under the theme "Nil Nisi Optima" (Only the Best), took place in the school's main auditorium and was attended by distinguished guests from the education sector, traditional authorities, and the school community.

A New Chapter Begins

The event commenced with a solemn procession of the incoming board members, accompanied by a stirring rendition of the school anthem. Headmistress Mrs. Lucy O. Naih delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the critical role of the Board in shaping the school's future direction and maintaining its academic excellence.

"This inauguration marks not just a change of leadership, but a renewal of our collective commitment to uphold the values and vision that have made Temascho a beacon of quality education in Ghana," stated Mrs. Naih.

Official Proceedings

The ceremony featured several key moments:

  • Formal dissolution of the outgoing Board by the Regional Director of Education
  • Swearing-in of the new Board members by Hon. Justice Owusu
  • Inspiring address by the outgoing Board Chairman, Anch. Kow Kalraba Yamoah
  • Acceptance speech by the new Board Chairman, Anch. Ken Thompson
  • Special musical performances by the school choir

The Regional Director of Education, in his inaugural address, charged the new Board to focus on three key areas: infrastructure development, staff welfare, and maintaining academic standards. He particularly commended the school for its consistent performance in WASSCE examinations and encouraged the new Board to build on this legacy.
