The 2025 SRC Week at Tema Secondary School was a spectacular showcase of student talent, creativity, and school spirit. From March 10-17, the campus buzzed with energy as students participated in a wide array of activities that blended academics, arts, sports, and entertainment.
Daily Highlights
The week-long celebration featured themed days with special activities:
Monday: Cultural Day
Students and staff wore traditional attire from various Ghanaian ethnic groups. The day featured:
- Traditional food fair with dishes from all regions
- Cultural performances in the main auditorium
- Storytelling sessions from different cultural perspectives
Wednesday: Academic Challenge
Intellectual competitions took center stage:
- Inter-house quiz competition (Science, Humanities, and General Knowledge)
- Debate tournament on "Technology in Education"
- Spelling bee championship
"SRC Week is when we see the full spectrum of what makes Temascho special - not just academics, but the complete development of our students," noted Senior Housemaster Mr. David Osei.
Friday: Sports Festival
The week's athletic competitions culminated in a grand finale:
- Track and field events at the school stadium
- Football finals between the four houses
- Tug-of-war and relay races
Grand Finale: Awards Night
The week concluded with a glittering awards night featuring:
- Performance by the school choir and dance troupe
- Drama presentation by the Theatre Club
- Presentation of awards for all competitions
- Special recognition of outstanding students and teachers
- Closing address by the SRC President
